I have booked in to go to the Queensland Brides Expo at the Convention Centre on the 30th, 31st March and 1st April. I’ll be at stand 137. Come and see me there and say hi.

Wet weather and your wedding

Posted by in |

With all the wet weather we have had lately if you have an outdoor wedding planned make sure that you have an alternate venue arranged so that if it rains on the day you can easily change to plan B.

If the ceremony has to be moved inside it’s also a good idea to see if seating can be provided for all of the guests as there may not be the same seating restrictions as an outdoor venue often has.

Bec and Nick’s wedding

Bec and Nick’s wedding yesterday was beautiful – even the rain on the Gold Coast couldn’t dampen the occasion. Bec’s dress was just so gorgeous with lots of sparkles and tulle, the bridesmaids looked fabulous in pink and Nick and his groomsmen looked every bit as good as the girls. The doves from Broadwings Events were nearly the scene-stealers as they posed for photos on fingers, arms and occasionally heads.

Special wedding dates

Do you want to get married on 12.12.12? How about 10.11.12 or any special date combination? Now is the time to book your ceremony so that you don’t miss out.

Wedding guest comfort

At an outdoor wedding a lot of venues will only let you have a certain number of chairs and some guests find standing for the whole ceremony can be tiring.

My suggestion is to get some picnic blankets with or without cushions and spread them around on the ground for people to sit on, it will give your wedding a lovely atmosphere, can ensure guests are sitting where you would like them to and can be quickly and easily set out and packed up. They are also easy to transport.

Happy New Year

I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. I hope 2012 is everything that you hope and wish for.

Your Marriage Vows

Posted by in |

While I make sure that the whole ceremony is personalised for each couple I think that your marriage vows are the most important part of your wedding ceremony because they are your commitment promise to each other and they derserve all the thought and energy that you have to make sure you tell your husband/wife to be just how you feel about them and your future together – this is your moment and you will only get it once – so write from your heart. I will give you as much help as you would like to make sure that they are just how you want them to be.

True Love – by Author Unknown

TRUE LOVE
By Author Unknown
True love is a sacred flame
That burns eternally,
And none can dim its special glow
Or change its destiny.
True love speaks in tender tones
And hears with gentle ear,
True love gives with open heart
And true love conquers fear.
True love makes no harsh demands
It neither rules nor binds,
And true love
holds with gentle hands
The hearts that it entwines.

Summer wedding tip #1

Posted by in |

If your ceremony is outdoors your guests may get quite hot while they are waiting for the bride to arrive and the ceremony to start. A nice way to ensure that they are well hydrated is to arrange for cold small size bottles of water to be available. I’m sure that they will thank you for your thoughtfulness.
